Using DOE
These terms are an agreement between you and DOE. By using the DOE app, DOE Web or our websites you agree to them and to our privacy policy. You must be 13 or older, and older where your country’s law requires it. Chatting on DOE is free; you pay only for your own data or Wi-Fi.
Your account
Your account is tied to your phone number. Keep your phone, your sign-in codes and your Doe Pay PIN to yourself: DOE staff will never ask for them. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you lose your phone or number, tell us at the locked-out page.
Rules for everyone
Don’t use DOE to:
- scam, defraud or pressure people for money, or pretend to be DOE, a business or someone else;
- send spam or messages people didn’t ask for;
- harass, threaten or bully anyone, or share someone’s private images or information without their consent;
- share content that sexually exploits children, promotes violence or terrorism, or is otherwise illegal;
- break the law, or break, overload or try to get around how DOE works.
You can block and report anyone. Reports go to our safety team, who may limit or ban accounts that break these rules.
Businesses
Businesses must tell the truth about who they are and what they sell. Promotions and bulk messages may go only to people who asked for updates, and Do Not Disturb must be respected. The verified tick is given after we check registration documents and can be removed. Business plans, ads and other paid tools have their own prices and terms, shown before you pay.
Doe Pay
Doe Pay is provided with licensed partner banks, who hold your money; DOE never holds customer money and gives no loans. It is only for people verified in a country where it is live. Doe Pay has its own terms, which you accept when you open a wallet.
Your content
What you send is yours. You give DOE only the permission needed to deliver it, back it up if you ask, and show it to the people you send it to. Personal and group chats are end-to-end encrypted, so we can’t see them.
Our service
We work hard to keep DOE running and safe, and we keep improving it, so features may change. We may show ads in public places in the app, never inside private chats.
Suspension and deletion
You can delete your account at any time at doe.chat/delete-account or from the app. We may suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or the law, and we tell you why unless the law or safety stops us. You can ask us to look again by contacting DOE Support.
Liability and law
DOE is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, DOE is not responsible for losses caused by other users, by networks or devices, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
